What makes The Australian International AIRSHOW at Avalon so world famous? Just all the combat jets from home and abroad, bombers, heavy lift aircraft, military display teams and rotary winged warriors! Running from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th March 2017, we’ve compiled a list of our top must-see events at the show!

The Military Aircraft

The Royal Australian Air Force will be displaying a wide variety of aircraft and we’re looking forward to seeing the following:

F/A-18 A/B HORNET

With a top speed of 1,915 km/h, this multirole combat jet is designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft. Both the F/A-18A and F/A-18B Hornets are an integral part of Australia’s air combat capability.

C-17A GLOBEMASTER III

The C-17A Globemaster III provides the Royal Australian Air Force with an unprecedented capacity for strategic airlift. It allows Australia to rapidly deploy troops, supplies, combat vehicles, heavy equipment and helicopters anywhere in the world.

The Australian Army will be displaying a wide variety of aircraft and we’re keeping our eye out for the SHADOW UAV!

SHADOW UAV

The SHADOW 200 is a tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, carrying a suite of sensors, including high resolution cameras and laser systems. Flying high above patrolling troops, the SHADOW 200 will provide detailed intelligence about enemy activity and ground troops will be able to view footage and data from the aircraft in real-time on ground terminals.

A large number of countries have also been invited to participate in AIRSHOW 2017 with the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) and the Royal Singapore Air Force (RSAF) also showcasing their variety of aircrafts.

JOHAN GUSTAFSSON

Flying for over a decade, Johan has been a pilot since the age of 15, when he got his glider license. As one of Sweden’s elite pilots in aerobatics, we’re looking forward to an amazing performance from Johan in the ACRO Glider.

ORIS ‘TINSTIX OF DYNAMITE’

If you love aerobatic twists, turns flips with a bit of explosives on the side, the Oris ‘Tinstix of Dynamite’ is the show for you!

With a wide variety of aircraft and ground displays, aerobatic shows and aerospace showcases featuring the technology of tomorrow, the The Australian International AIRSHOW at Avalon in March 2017, will be the the most dynamic show of its kind, ever staged in Australia.
